Careersource Research Coast coronavirus response plan

CareerSource Research Coast Temporarily Closes All Career Centers to the Public and Implements Virtual Services in Response to Coronavirus

CareerSource Research Coast (CSRC) today announced it has closed all career centers to the public until further notice in response to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Florida Department of Health regarding coronavirus (COVID-19). Executive management has also activated an emergency response plan called “TELEWORK,” which outlines CSRC’s local operating procedures and work from home policies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In order to serve the immediate needs of clients, employers and the general public, CSRC will initiate virtual services by leveraging technology to conduct and/or schedule appointments, send and receive documentation, and facilitate outreach to employers in the local workforce development area.

Effective March 18, 2020, all public events—including agency-related job fairs, onsite recruitment events, workshops, and community events—have also been postponed.

“Our main priority is the safety and well-being of our staff and the communities we serve,” said Brian Bauer, president and CEO of CareerSource Research Coast. “To that end, we are offering a variety of convenient remote services—which do not require individuals to visit one of our career centers—to ensure appropriate measures are taken to satisfy social distancing recommendations.”

Through TELEWORK, CSRC staff will continue to serve customers remotely as it actively monitors key developments related to COVID-19. CSRC has temporarily halted nonessential services and will resume access to such services and career centers at a later date.

Due to the highly infectious nature of COVID-19, all career centers in Indian River, Martin and St. Lucie counties will remain closed pending further guidance from national, state and local sources. CSRC encourages anyone who expresses COVID-19 symptoms to self-quarantine.

Individuals or businesses with questions pertaining to unemployment benefits are asked to call 1-800-204-2418 or visit www.floridajobs.org.
