Discrimination Complaint Procedures

Equal Opportunity Is the Law

CareerSource Research Coast is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Program Service Provider.  As such, we are committed to the spirit and letter of all federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to equal opportunity.  To this end, CareerSource Research Coast, as a recipient or sub-recipient of federal funding, does not discriminate against any individual in the United States.

It is the policy of CareerSource Research Coast to ensure equal opportunity without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions, sex stereotyping, transgender status, and gender identity), national origin (including limited English proficiency), age, disability, or political affiliation or belief. This policy also covers any beneficiary of programs financially assisted under Title I of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (WIOA) on the basis of the beneficiary’s citizenship/status as a lawfully admitted immigrant authorized to work in the United States or his/her participation in any WIOA Title I-financially assisted program or activity.

CareerSource Research Coast does not discriminate in any of the following areas: deciding who will be admitted, or have access, to any WIOA Title I-financially assisted program or activity; providing opportunities in, or treating any person with regard to, such a program or activity; or making employment decisions in the administration of, or in connection with, such a program or activity.

What to Do If You Believe You Have Experienced Discrimination

If you think that you have been subjected to unlawful discrimination under a WIOA Title I-financially assisted program or activity, you may complete the Discrimination Complaint Form and submit it to the CareerSource Research Coast Equal Opportunity Officer, Tracey McMorris, via email at eeo-officer@careersourcerc.com or by mail at CareerSource Research Coast, 584 NW University Blvd., Suite 100, Port Saint Lucie, FL, 34986, or by calling (866) 482-4473 within 180 days from the date of the alleged violation.

You may file a complaint within 180 days from the date of the alleged violation electronically as directed on the CRC website at  www.dol.gov/crc or by mail:

If you believe that you have experienced discrimination, you may contact the CareerSource Research Coast Equal Opportunity Officer to obtain a form to file your complaint.  If you file your complaint with the CareerSource Research Coast Equal Opportunity Officer and/or the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), you must wait either until the OCR issues a written Notice of Final Action or until 90 days have passed (whichever is sooner) before filing with the Civil Rights Center (CRC).  (See the addresses above.)

If the OCR does not give you a written Notice of Final Action within 90 days of the day on which you filed your complaint, you do not have to wait for the OCR to issue that notice before filing a complaint with the CRC. You must, however, file your CRC complaint within 30 days of the 90‑day deadline (in other words, within 120 days after the day on which you filed your complaint with the OCR).

If the OCR gives you a written Notice of Final Action on your complaint, but you are dissatisfied with the decision or resolution, you may file a complaint with the CRC.  You must file your CRC complaint within 30 days of the date on which you received the Notice of Final Action.
