Services Offered by CareerSource Research Coast
Provide Opportunities. Improve Lives.
What We Offer
CareerSource Research Coast provides a system throughout the local workforce development area (Indian River County, Martin County, and St. Lucie County) connecting employers and job seekers. This system offers many programs and services that may be accessed through different gateways, including a virtual network, career centers, community-based partnerships and a toll-free hotline.
Business is Our Primary Customer
Incentives provide reimbursement for training costs to defray the expense for employers who prefer to train their workers. Other tools, such as our Employer Learning Library, support the training of a workforce at a low cost. Job fairs assist businesses with their recruitment strategies, and special workshops on retention teach employers how to keep a workforce. We make it easier to find appropriately trained, skilled workers and to build the skills of an existing workforce. Our professional Business Services Consultants serve as liaisons to the business community, analyze an employer’s workforce needs, and customize services and programs according to the employer’s goals.
Workers Are Our Primary Focus
We recruit, train, and place workers into the marketplace. CareerSource Research Coast provides job search and job placement activities, career and technical training scholarships, career planning, assessment, work readiness certification, resume building, and support services that assist workers to prepare for and retain employment. Trained professionals in our service delivery sites work closely with workers to ensure their success in the workplace.
Partners in Education
CareerSource Research Coast partners with our local educational organizations to ensure a trained pipeline of workers for the local labor market. Our Youth Council, consisting of representatives from the K-12 educational partners, identifies the workforce training needs of young adults and translates those needs into the appropriate programs and services. Annually, working with our partners, we deliver a conference for youth ages 16 through 24 to raise awareness of careers and the need for education and job training. Our Board also sponsors scholarships for youth who meet eligibility requirements.
