As the president/CEO of CareerSource Research Coast, I urge our community to recognize these veterans’ immense potential and consider the profound impact hiring them can have on their lives and the prosperity of our local economies and communities.

Veterans bring to the workforce a diverse array of skills forged in the crucible of military service — traits such as leadership, discipline, adaptability, and a tireless work ethic. These qualities, cultivated in the face of challenges most of us can only imagine, are precisely what make veterans exceptional employees. That is why we hosted the ‘Paychecks for Patriots’ Job Fair for Veterans, on Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Fort Pierce Riverwalk Center.

This job fair wasn’t merely an event—it was a celebration of the talents, dedication, and skills our veterans possess. It served as an opportunity for our local businesses to meet these remarkable individuals face-to-face, to witness firsthand the incredible asset they could add to their teams.

Even though the job fair is over, we encourage businesses of all sizes to open their doors to these veterans and to be part of a transformative journey.

By hiring a veteran, you are not just filling a position; you are offering a chance for a hero to continue their service, this time to your business and our community.

As we approach this Veterans Day, let us come together as a community to honor and support our veterans in the most meaningful way possible—by offering them the dignity of purposeful employment.
