Fort Pierce, FL – November 9, 2023 – CareerSource Research Coast, a leading workforce development organization, hosted the Paycheck for Patriots Job Fair at the Riverwalk Center in Fort Pierce on Thursday, November 9. The event, specifically designed for veterans transitioning into civilian careers, witnessed an overwhelming response from both job-seeking veterans and employers alike.

The event kicked off with a poignant presentation of colors by the Treasure Coast High School Honor Guard, followed by a heartfelt rendition of the national anthem performed by Daryl Magill and Lisa Elaine. The warm welcome was extended by Tracey McMorris, Chief Operating Officer of CareerSource Research Coast, who set the stage for an inspiring day ahead.

Guest speaker Jose Cappellan, St. Lucie County Veteran Services Officer and esteemed CareerSource Research Coast board member shared empowering insights and words of encouragement with the attendees, underscoring the importance of supporting veterans in their pursuit of meaningful employment opportunities.

A total of 20 esteemed employers actively participated in the event, eagerly seeking to fill open positions within their organizations with individuals possessing the unique skill sets and dedication that veterans bring to the table. The veterans, numbering close to 50, arrived at the job fair with hopes of finding new and fulfilling career paths in their civilian lives.

The Paycheck for Patriots Job Fair served as a platform where veterans and employers could engage in meaningful conversations, explore potential job opportunities, and establish connections that could lead to long-term, fulfilling careers. The event highlighted the unwavering commitment of CareerSource Research Coast to support veterans in their transition to civilian life, fostering a sense of pride and gratitude within the local community.
