Summer of Success Youth Employment Program Returns for 2024

SOS 2024

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL – CareerSource Research Coast is pleased to announce the return of the highly successful ‘Summer of Success’ youth employment program for the summer of 2024. Made possible through generous funding provided by the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), this initiative aims to equip local youth with essential soft skills and real-world experiences to empower their career exploration and development.

Beginning June 10 through June 14, St. Lucie County High School students between 16 through 20 will undergo engaging soft skills and employability training sessions. These sessions will provide invaluable insights and guidance to help youth navigate the professional world with confidence and competence.

Following the training, from June 17 through July 12, participants will embark on a four-week internship with various participating businesses across St. Lucie County. These internships will offer practical, hands-on experience in diverse fields and industries, with participants earning $15 per hour for up to 32 hours each week. Upon completion of the program, each participant stands to earn nearly $2,000 in salary and valuable experiences.

Last year’s participants were engaged in a wide range of roles across the county, including administrative duties, engineering, the arts, and more. Partnering organizations included Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County, Oxbow Eco-Center, EndIT, Smithsonian Marine Aquarium, and others.

“We are thrilled to offer once again the ‘Summer of Success’ program to the youth of St. Lucie County,” said Brian Bauer, President/CEO of CareerSource Research Coast. “This program not only provides crucial training for a world they may not yet be familiar with, but also offers participants the opportunity to gain real-world experience in their desired fields. We believe that empowering our youth with these experiences is essential for their future success.”

Registration for the Summer of Success program will open April 15. Interested youth are encouraged to visit https://careersourcerc.com to register and secure their spot in this transformative program as registration is limited.
