CareerSource Research Coast Consolidates Career Centers Due to Funding Allocations

TREASURE COAST, FL — Due to recent budget and funding cuts, CareerSource Research Coast (CSRC) has announced the consolidation of its physical Career Centers. Currently, CSRC operates three centers—one in each of the counties it serves: Indian River County, St. Lucie County, and Martin County. Moving forward, all services will be concentrated at a newly established Comprehensive Career Center, centrally located in St. Lucie County. These decisions were approved by the Treasure Coast Workforce Consortium and the CSRC Board of Directors, ensuring alignment with our regional workforce goals.

Brian Bauer, President/CEO of CareerSource Research Coast, emphasized the importance of maintaining fiscal responsibility while continuing to meet the needs of the community. “While we regret having to make these difficult changes, consolidating our services is essential to ensure that we can continue to offer high-quality support to job seekers and businesses. By concentrating our resources, we are positioning ourselves to serve the tri-county region better and fulfill our commitment to economic growth and workforce development.”

This strategic decision allows CSRC to continue its mission of supporting job seekers and businesses while focusing its resources in areas with the greatest need. The CSRC Employment Success Workshop series will continue uninterrupted at the new location, ensuring that job seekers have access to the guidance and training necessary for a successful employment journey. To maintain connections within the tri-county region, select staff members will work remotely and be available to assist job seekers and businesses in their respective counties.

CSRC recognizes that this consolidation may prompt concerns from residents in Indian River and Martin Counties. “We want to assure the community that this decision was made with the long-term goal of sustaining our services,” said Tracey McMorris, Chief Operating Officer of CSRC. “While our physical centers may be consolidated, our dedication to serving each county remains unchanged. We will continue to provide robust virtual and in-person support, and our staff will remain active and engaged in every community we serve.”

The new Comprehensive Career Center will be located in the Renaissance Business Park on Okeechobee Road in Fort Pierce, a site chosen for its public transit accessibility and central location within the tri-county region. This new facility will allow CSRC to serve the community efficiently by offering a wide range of resources under one roof. The new center’s grand opening is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, and it will feature all the amenities designed to support job seekers and businesses in their career development and hiring efforts.

CareerSource Research Coast remains committed to being the driving force in connecting businesses with job seekers, ensuring economic prosperity for all in the region. For the latest information about CSRC and the services offered, visit CareerSourceRC.com.
