CareerSource Research Coast provides funding opportunities for summer teen programs

CareerSource Research Coast (CSRC) is seeking agencies and organizations that will be facilitating summer programs for teens aged 13-19 to offer funding through the TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) program.

The TANF program provides states with flexibility in operating programs designed to help low-income families with children achieve economic self-sufficiency.  States use their TANF grants to fund monthly cash assistance payments to low-income families with children, as well as a wide range of services that are designed to address and end the dependence of needy parents on government benefits by promoting job preparation, work, and marriage as well as prevent and reduce the incidence of out-of-wedlock pregnancies.

“Being able to reach out to organizations that weren’t aware this funding opportunity was available is a game changer for them, their summer programs and the families they serve,” said Brian Bauer, President/CEO of CSRC. “More teens under supervision with mentoring, guidance and fun means less time left alone to their own devices.”

Applications are being accepted through April 29 at www.csrc.news/TPPP. Prior to that deadline CSRC will host an online Q&A session to answer questions about their programs, eligibility and more Thursday, April 14 at 1:00pm at www.csrc.news/Summer-Program.
